Alumni Relations Officer, Mount Royal University

  • Took great pride in leading, coordinating, and engaging Mount Royal University alumni in deeply meaningful, rewarding, and mutually beneficial opportunities with their alma mater

 

  • Responsible for the production and execution of Mount Royal University’s inaugural Alumni Weekend (ultimately postponed due to COVID-19)

 

  • Spearheaded a cross-campus alumni collaboration team with the mandate of involving internal stakeholders in a two-way dialogue on opportunities within the alumni engagement space and amplifying the alumni role in the advancement of the University

 

  • Launched a bi-weekly webinar series in April 2020, giving value-added content to our alumni while also showcasing the diverse and varied collection of subject matter experts in the Mount Royal community. Within a short period of time, the webinar series gained over 3,000 on-demand views, engaged 47 campus and alumni subject matter experts, and received a mean satisfaction rating of 4.1/5

 

Senior Association Manager, Associations Plus Inc.

  • Worked with Associations Plus (the largest full-service Association Management Company in Western Canada) for over 11 years - as Senior Association Manager I was the leading client-facing staff member and served as Executive Director or Manager for several member-based, professional association clients

 

  • Manager/Executive Director duties included: preparation for and attendance at board meetings; communication with a variety of stakeholders through several means such as social media, annual reports, and newsletters; volunteer management, including oversight of annual general meeting and board appointment/election process; development of partnership/sponsorship opportunities; and additional programming-related projects that regularly surface

  • The Board Development Program is an initiative of Alberta Culture and Tourism designed to educate non-profit organizations on seven modules critical to their success, including Board Roles and Responsibilities, Policy Development, and Effective use of Committees

  • Participated in 80 hours of specialized board governance training in order to qualify for this instruction assignment as per the program parameters
